When In Thailand, Please Do Not Do Or Say Anything Silly About Their King
Thailand is a country where they truly worship their king and that anything anyone ever say which can be slanderous no matter right or wrong, will be punished. A Swiss man who claimed to be drunk did just that and if anything, he could have been lynched by a raving mob.
I remember I was in Thailand once while their King was celebrating one of his birthday (and being the longest reigning monarch in the world, he had plenty to celebrate for. The people truly love their king and can be seen by the many hundreds and thousands of praying session to bless their king. Photo of the king would be proudly displayed at every entrance.
Some businesses seem to be competing on the size of the king’s photo. Talk to any Thai people, they will tell you how good this current king is and that they would even be willing to sacrifice for him.

THE Thais have great respect for their king and, to celebrate his 79th birthday on Tuesday, millions of portraits of King Bhumibol Adulyadej were erected across the country. Many people also wore yellow shirts, which is the king’s colour.
So they certainly were not amused to find portraits of the king defaced with black spray paint in six villages in Chiang Mai on Tuesday.
The culprit turned out to be a Swiss man, who now faces up to 15 years in jail.
