There is this guy who tried too hard to wanting to nail this tycoon’s daughter. He thought he would be in for a good ride, that is a good pay and all the other fringe benefits like a house, a car and possibly some equities in the company. He was hoping for a ticket to permanent residency in Singapore.

In this news report from Singapore, a man who tries to cheat the tycoon’s daughter was caught by his prospective father in law after the father in law hired private investigators to tail him. He was caught in popular Singapore’s night joint area (Mohd Sultan area) trying to pursue other females.

It was almost in the bag if he had been a bit more patient and being a foreigner at that.

News report as follows:

TOO nice, too well-dressed and in too much of a hurry.

Singapore tycoon John felt something was not right when he met his daughter’s boyfriend eight months ago. And he had a suspicion that the guy was after his money. Why did the 32-year-old sales executive appear to be in such a hurry to marry his daughter? His daughter, 23, stands to inherit his real estate and trading companies one day.

The 56-year-old tycoon, who did not want to use his real name, told The New Paper on Sunday that he was worried that the man, who is a foreigner, was also making use of her to get a permanent residence in Singapore. Ultimately, the man could even inherit part of his family business if he married his daughter.

John did not want to say how many companies he has nor how much they are worth. He said that as a father, he would provide for his daughter and admitted that the man who marries her is likely to receive various ‘gifts’.

These would include a house, a car, a stable job with a fat pay cheque and even shares in his company. All these would be a far cry from the humble lifestyle of the fiance, who was then living in a rented room in a HDB flat and was earning about $2,000 a month.

To make matters worse, the man kept pestering John to give him a job in the marketing department of one of his companies. There were too many signs, so John decided to follow up on his hunch. Early this year, he hired a private investigator (PI) to spy on the man, without his daughter’s knowledge.
